Graphic
Design is a process.
Graphic
design is a process of bringing together art, words, colors and texture
in a logical,
aesthetic and efficient combination to communicate your message.
Getting to know you
I
need to have a session with you to find out more about your organization
or company.
The things I need to know are 1) the objective, 2) the audience you hope
to influence, 3) who your competitors are, what they do and what sets you
apart, 4) your marketing successes and failures, and why, 5) your core
mission, 6)
what
you perceive
your image is.
Gathering the content
Once I understand your business and objectives,
WebbGraphics begins gathering the content for your marketing collateral
(brochure, flyer, newsletter, direct mail.) I collect any illustrations needed
for the
project and select the colors and typography that fit your image and
style.
Copywriting
Having been a news writer and editor for over 20 years,
I use concise and crisp wording to develop your message in a credible and
persuasive style. The objective is to find the phrases that catch interest
and move your prospective audience to action.
Design
Using the elements brought together and the information you have provided,
the design process begins to create a visually attractive and inviting
product. That visual impact, especially with a powerfully attractive cover,
propels the reader's attention to explore its content and deliver the message.
Communicaton
Communication with you along the process is important. Once I have developed
a preliminary design, I will go over the project with you to make sure
we are headed in the right direction. I'll act on your thoughts and suggestions
and make the necessary adjustments.
Final draft
After incorporating the changes, I will present you a final draft, which will
be ready for production. This is also another opportunity to review the
original objective to assure that what has been created will produce those
results. The final draft will assure that the material is graphically appealing,
that art and illustrations are accurate and of high quality, that the content
is accurate, typographically and grammatically correct.
Production
Once approved, WebbGraphics communicates with the printer about the project.
Once the printer's pre-press technician reviews the computer files and
any adjustments are made, I will check a printer's proof for accurate representation
and placement of images, location of folding and, once again, proofreading
of written content. Before giving the final approval to print, I will examine
the first run-of-press. Once completed we will deliver to your site.
